LPGA: The Safeway Classic

Pat Hurst claimed her first win of the season and fifth career win at the Safeway Classic Presented
by Pepsi by posting a 10 under par 206, winning the tournament by one stroke. Hurst climbed the
leaderboard with a four-under-par during the final round to beat Kim Saiki and Jeong Jang.
Women's Golf
Along with the steady resurgence of the game of golf, more and more women are
now playing the game.
Of course, super stars like: Annika Sorenstam, Christie Kerr, now pro, Michelle Wie, and newcomer Lorena
Ochoa of the LPGA scene
certainly help women's golf.
Most, if not all of the Cincinnati area public courses have women's
leagues, so
find the course nearest you in our listings and give them a call if you're interested in playing in
a women's golfing league.
The Cincinnati area also has two women's golf associations. The Greater Cincinnati
Women's Golf Association and the
Executive Women's Golf Association.
The Women's Senior Golf Tour doesn't get a lot of
press, but there you'll find some of the greatest women golfers of all time, including 9 LPGA Hall
of Fame members.
